Directions:
Step 1: Prep the Broccoli
- Rinse the broccoli under cold water.
- Cut it into evenly sized florets for even cooking.
Step 2: Set Up the Steamer
- In a medium pot, add 1 cup of water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Place a steamer basket inside the pot, ensuring it sits above the water level.
Step 3: Steam the Broccoli
- Add the broccoli florets to the steamer basket.
- Cover with a lid and steam for 3–5 minutes, or until the broccoli is bright green and fork-tender.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!
- Remove the broccoli from the steamer and season with salt, olive oil, butter, or lemon juice.
- Serve immediately as a side dish or add to your favorite meals.
Notes:
- No Steamer Basket? No problem! You can place the broccoli in a heatproof colander and set it over a pot with boiling water. Just cover with a lid.
- Crispier Texture? Steam for just 3 minutes.
- Softer Texture? Steam for up to 6 minutes.
- Add Flavor: Try tossing steamed broccoli with garlic butter, Parmesan cheese, or a drizzle of sesame oil.
